Job Description

UDlive is seeking a Head of Technical Sales to play a vital role in our next phase of growth. This role will be based in Alton, Hampshire, with a reasonable degree of remote working possible. Our products often do things in new ways, and being able to properly communicate the capability of our solutions is a crucial part of our sales process. This role will be responsible for doing that, helping to cultivate and to execute our technical sales strategy across our product range both domestically and internationally.

You will be expected to attend conferences and trade shows, meet with customers both pre and post-sale, and make presentations. Though this is not a support role, we are looking for someone practical, who is prepared to get their hands dirty when necessary, and recognises a customer’s comfort with the technology is fundamental to their ability to extract value from it. There will be an element of travel, including internationally, but this will be kept at a manageable level.

Our novel technology enables our customers in the water, flood-prevention, highways, and other sectors to reduce waste, improve maintenance, and help the environment.

The salary range for this role is £55-65K, depending on experience. A generous share option and bonus scheme is also available.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development: Drive sales of technical products or services to businesses. Identify and establish new business, and maintain relationships with existing customers.

Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth product knowledge and the ability to explain technical aspects to non-technical clients. Keep abreast of the latest industry trends and developments.

Client Relationship Management: Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services, both to direct-clients and distributors. Understand client needs and tailor products or services accordingly.

Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to understand and relay product capabilities and enhancements. Provide feedback from clients to assist in product development.

Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.).

Presentation and Communication Skills: Develop and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations. Excellent communication skills to relay complex information in an accessible manner.

Negotiation and Closing Skills: Lead sales negotiations, close sales deals, and manage customer contracts.

Project Management: Coordinate the delivery of services or products, managing and interpreting customer requirements.

Training and Development: Provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.

Proven experience in technical sales or a related field.

Strong technical background with an understanding of the products or services being sold.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Good project management and negotiation skills.

Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Willingness to travel (including internationally) and meet clients.
