UDlive provides IoT solutions for remote monitoring of infrastructure related challenges in particular in the Water and Highways Industries. Data is increasingly the most important product of the company and its most valuable asset.
The role of Data Engineer is a mid/senior role within the technical team, both hands on and strategic. The rapid growth of the company and the general focus on 'industry leading' means that UDlive has to ensure that the data processing systems keep pace with the customer base and the product roadmap.
The role is about taking a lead on the data ingestion and storage systems and working with the infrastructure specialist as well as the application delivery specialist.
Acquire datasets that align with business needs.
Develop algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information.
Build, test, and maintain pipeline architectures.
Collaborate with management to understand company objectives.
Create new data validation methods and data analysis tools.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
Data process automation and workflows for major processes. Setting up new devices and models etc.
Working with the embedded teams to port device/ cloud configuration settings into new data architecture.
Working towards improving the software platform with the applications team.
Training on Hadoop and taking over responsibilities for the Kafka data ingress process.
Reports design using company embedded reports server.
Responding to customer data requests, providing status updates.
Demonstrated experience in data platforms, streaming data, big data.
Appropriate data language skills, Java, Python, SQL.
Experience with cloud based platforms.
Self directed and able to work independently from high level concepts.
